Information Venture Partners has hired Toan Huynh as a venture partner, according to a news release.
Huynh will soon be joining the Toronto investor from Citi Ventures, the venture capital arm of U.S. financial holding company Citigroup, where she is an entrepreneur-in-residence.
Before then, Huynh was with Irish professional services firm Accenture, serving as managing director of the company’s cloud, fintech, innovation and digital transformation practice in New York.
She took that job with Accenture’s 2015 acquisition of Cloud Sherpas, an Atlanta boutique cloud software advisory and consultancy. Huynh co-founded the VC-backed company seven years earlier.
Huynh previously held several entrepreneurial and executive roles, with a focus on financial services.
Over the course of an 18-year career, she has also been active as an angel investor and startup mentor in New York.
Huynh will lead Information VP’s new office in New York, assisting with sourcing, making and managing investments in the region.
Information VP invests in early-stage fintech and enterprise-software companies across North America. It is currently investing from its second fund, which raised $106 million in 2016.
In the release, General Partner Dave Unsworth said the addition of Huynh will help the firm build its presence in New York’s fintech ecosystem.
In August, PE Hub Canada reported on Information VP’s recent exit from Silicon Valley business-planning software provider Adaptive Insights.
