The Company:
Founded in January 1997, Moldflow develops software solutions that enhance the design, analysis and manufacture of injection molded plastic parts. The company has developed a suite of software applications that address the difficulties and variables inherent in the design and production of injection molded plastic parts. Moldflow products enable its customers to speed their products to market, decrease manufacturing costs and reduce costly design and manufacturing errors with an automated and integrated process. Common consumer products that make extensive use of injection molded plastic parts include cellular telephones, personal digital assistants, pagers, automobiles, televisions, cameras, toys and personal computers. Currently used by more than 2,200 customers at more than 2,500 sites in over 50 countries around the world, including Baxter International, DaimlerChrysler, DuPont, Fuji Xerox, Hewlett-Packard, Lego, Lucent Technologies, Motorola, Nokia and Samsung. Moldflow is retooling its operation to allow its customers to access its applications via the Web. Also, the company is creating an Internet portal allowing customers to use Moldflow’s production set-up and monitoring product to remotely monitor the injection molding manufacturing process, including machine efficiency and production data, from anywhere in the world. Moldflow operates facilities in nine countries, and has distribution arrangements with Parametric Technology Corp. and Structural Dynamics Research Corp. among others.
