Lightspeed Venture Partners announced it has promoted Bipul Sinha and Arif Janmohamed each to partner. Sinha focuses on software and Internet deals while Janmohamed focuses on infrastructure, communications, networking and software.
Menlo Park, CA—September 13, 2011—Lightspeed Venture Partners, a leading global venture capital firm, today announced the promotion of Bipul Sinha and Arif Janmohamed to partner. These promotions further strengthen Lightspeed’s investment programs in Internet, mobile and infrastructure technologies.
Bipul Sinha focuses on Internet and software investments. Previously, he worked at Blumberg Capital where he led investments in the areas of digital media, Internet and datacenter software. Earlier in his career, Sinha held engineering and sales positions at companies, including AMI, IBM and Oracle where he served as director of database and middleware products. He also holds several patents in distributed computing. Sinha received his B.Tech. (Honors) in electrical engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur and holds an MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania where he was a Palmer Scholar.
Arif Janmohamed invests primarily in datacenter infrastructure and software companies. Prior to Lightspeed, he worked in the Corporate Business Development group at Cisco Systems where he focused on growth opportunities in networking, mobile and SaaS. Before joining Cisco, Janmohamed served at Novitas Capital, an early-stage venture capital firm. Previously, he worked in technical development and product management roles at WebTV (acquired by MSFT), Andes Networks (acquired by SUNW) and Sun Microsystems. He holds an MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and a BSc in computer engineering from the University of Waterloo, Canada.
