More departures at Social Capital

Social Capital, founded in 2011 by early Facebook executive Chamath Palihapitiya, has seen more departures. Most recently, Partner Mike Ghaffary, who joined a year ago, announced last week he was leaving to focus on angel investing. In addition, Ashley Mayer, a partner and VP of marketing who joined in 2015 from Box, tweeted she has also left to pursue new adventures. And the firm has removed its team page from the website.

The departures are the latest for the firm, which saw Jonathan Hsu, a partner and head of data science, leave in July. Social Capital co-founder Mamoon Hamid joined Kleiner Perkins a year ago.

In July, Bloomberg reported that at least five investors will not back Social Capital’s next fund.
