Nuts For Cheese, a company producing dairy-free, plant-based, artisanal cheeses, announced the completion of a $5.35 million funding round, led by Forage Capital Partners. CPG veterans, Mike Fata and Dror Balshine, joined the VC firm in the funding round. Fata will also join Nuts For Cheese’s board as a chair.
The London, Ontario-based company will use the investment for facility enhancements and equipment costs, as well as towards hires, innovation, and marketing.
“Forage is really excited to invest in a leading vegan cheese company that provides consumers with a real food alternative to traditional cheeses,” said Jim Taylor, partner at Forage Capital Partners, in a press release.
Forage Capital Partners is a Canadian agriculture and food investor. The firm’s fund, Forage Capital Ag & Food Business Solutions Fund, targets companies that have suffered a significant disruption to their business model.
