Sam Green, a veteran private equity investment officer with Oregon State Treasury, is leaving at the end of June, a spokesman confirmed for VCJ.
Green resigned as of June 30, James Sinks, the spokesman, said. The system will appoint a successor but hasn’t yet begun the search, he said.
Green declined comment on his plans.
He joined the treasurer’s office in 2008. Previously, he spent 19 years at Washington State Investment Board. He also was a PE-investment officer at Washington State, his LinkedIn profile shows.
Green was a member of Oregon’s veteran PE team, which has seen several high-profile departures in recent years.
The investment team within the treasurer’s office invests the assets of Oregon Public Employees Retirement Fund, including a private equity portfolio with a fair market value of more than $14 billion.
