Perfecto Mobile Raises $7 Million

Perfecto Mobile, a Tel Aviv, Israel-based provider of access and automated testing solutions for mobile devices, has raised $7 million in second-round funding. Return backers include Carmel Ventures and Vertex Venture Capital.

Perfecto Mobile, a global leading provider of remote access and automated testing solutions for mobile devices, today announced that it has closed a $7 million second round of financing. The sum was raised from existing investors: Carmel Ventures and Vertex Venture Capital. Perfecto Mobile will use the proceeds of this financing round to expand its Handset Cloud testing service as well as for ramping up marketing and sales activities.

“We are very excited about the new investment from our long-term supporting venture funds,” said Eran Yaniv, CEO of Perfecto Mobile. “The emergence of new business models and open technologies in the mobile industry, such as mobile application stores, mobile widgets and open device platforms increases the need for testing on mobile devices and thus creates a great opportunity for Perfecto Mobile.”

Yaniv added that with the new funds Perfecto Mobile will be able to reach more developers and better address their needs by increasing the number of handsets available for testing in more geographical locations.

“We are confident in Perfecto Mobile’s ability to take advantage of the big and growing market it approaches,” said Rina Shainski, General Partner at Carmel Ventures. “With a strong management team and a compelling service that helps perfecting mobile applications and increasing the quality in the mobile industry, Perfecto Mobile is poised to be the leader of its market.”

“With customers such as Vodafone and Swisscom, Perfecto Mobile has proven its ability to help overcome the huge challenges that mobile operators and mobile application providers face when they take new devices and applications to market,” said Ehud Levy, Managing Partner at Vertex Venture Capital. “We are glad to help Perfecto Mobile grow and expand its activities to additional customers and markets.”

The developments in the mobile industry encourage an ever-growing number of developers to create a myriad of new innovative applications and quickly get them to market. In order to successfully monetize applications and ensure their quality, these developers, as well as the app stores providers, need to test the applications on a variety of mobile handsets. Perfecto Mobile’s Handset Cloud service enables developers and testers to test their mobile phone applications over the web on a multitude of real handsets of various platforms, such as Android, Symbian, Windows Mobile, and J2ME.
