Permira has dismissed press speculation that it is interested in G4S, confirming to the London Stock Exchange that it is not considering a bid for the quoted security services group.
Permira's announcement comes after reports that it was mulling a Gbp3.5bn (US$7.1bn) bid for G4S.
Separately, G4S on Thursday announced that it had acquired Ireland's Omada Fire and Security Group, alarm specialist Bell Communications and electronic security systems group A.1. Omada for Gbp8m (US$16m).
Shortly before 12 noon, G4S's shares were up 6.25p, or 2.87%, to 224.25p, valuing it at Gbp2.8bn (US$5.7bn).
