The Company:
Provides Web application testing and analysis solutions. The company makes a product called WebLoad that can be configured to simulate thousands of users hitting a Web site. These “virtual clients” can look like Netscape, Internet Explorer and WebTV users. They can appear to be coming in via modems and/or high-speed lines. They can randomly process transactions or simply browse pages. The point is to test peak loads. And this goes deeper than measuring how many hits the homepage can take. It also involves stress-testing scripts and applications that handle functions such as credit card processing or database searches.
