It’s that time of year again.
The staff of VCJ, along with our affiliate publications Buyouts and PE Hub, are gearing up for our annual PartnerConnect West conference at the Ritz-Carlton on Oct. 2-4 in Half Moon Bay, California.
Scheduled as the midday Oct. 3 keynote is Steve Young, the former NFL quarterback and Super Bowl winner, who is co-founder and managing director of private equity firm HGGC.
In addition, the various panels that the VCJ staff and I are moderating will feature such venture capitalists as Tim Guleri of Sierra Ventures; Neil Sequeira of Defy Partners; Andreas Stavropoulos of DFJ; Tim Young of Eniac Ventures; Sean Cunningham of ForgePoint; and Alex Lim of IVP, among others.
LPs in attendance will include Georganne Perkins of Fisher Lynch Capital and Chris Douvos of Venture Investment Associates.
Among the panel topics are megafunds and how managers are responding to large checks and larger fund sizes.
We’re also going to talk about how more venture firms are harnessing the power of data analytics. Is there still room for gut instinct?
One of the hottest topics in 2018 has been cryptocurrencies. That subject comes into play at PC West as we look at how LPs are reacting to rewritten term sheets and LPAs in the age of ICOs.
Overall, more than 400 GPs, LPs and others are expected to attend the event. We hope you’re one of them.
