Technology Crossover Ventures has promoted John Rosenberg from principal to general partner. He joined the firm in 2000, and currently sits on the boards of portfolio companies FX Alliance and ThinkCash.

Technology Crossover Ventures (TCV), a leading growth equity investor focused on investing in premier technology companies, announced today that John Rosenberg has been promoted from principal to general partner. Mr. Rosenberg, who joined TCV in 2000, brings more than ten years of experience in private equity, entrepreneurship, and investment banking. He will continue to focus on investments in the financial services, software and business services sectors. Mr. Rosenberg is based in the firm’s Palo Alto headquarters.

Mr. Rosenberg currently serves on the boards of FX Alliance and ThinkCash. His other current investments include Interactive Brokers Group, Inc. (IBKR); kgb; Liquidnet Holdings, Inc.; and Travelport, Ltd. Mr. Rosenberg also has contributed to the success of Automated Trading Desk, LLC (Acquired by Citigroup); Capella Education Company (NASDAQ: CPLA); Penson Worldwide, Inc. (NASDAQ: PNSN); and Thinkorswim Group, Inc. (Acquired by Investools, Inc.).

Prior to joining TCV, John was a business development manager at WeddingChannel.com where he focused on strategic development and financial reporting activities. Previously, John was an analyst in the technology investment banking group at Robertson Stephens & Company. John received a B.A. in economics from Princeton University.
