Toronto investor Ripple Ventures holds first close on opportunity fund

The $10m fund will target seed and early-stage growth in Toronto, Waterloo, Montreal, New York and Boston, with a focus on B2B software.

Toronto-based early-stage venture capital firm Ripple Ventures announced an initial close of its $10 million Opportunity Fund. Investments from the fund will target companies at the seed and early-stage growth levels in Toronto, Waterloo, Montreal, New York and Boston, with a focus on B2B software and annual recurring revenue of $500,000 or more.

Ripple Ventures announced the Opportunity Fund raised the initial close from new strategic investors, including Round13 Capital, JDF Capital Partners, Bluesky Equities, Coinsquare’s Cole Diamond, and several family offices, such as the Belz Family Office and the Kimel Family.

The fund is expected to grow and welcome additional investors over the coming year.
