True Ventures adds Ariel Winton to team

The newest principal at True was formerly with Boston-based growth-stage investor OpenView, where she invested in product-led software companies.

Early-stage tech investor True Ventures announced that Ariel Winton has joined the firm’s investment team as a principal.

Prior to True, Winton was formerly with Boston-based growth-stage investor OpenView for nearly five years, most recently as a vice president where she invested in product-led software companies. Her LinkedIn lists her experience as an investor at Cypress.io, balena and Calendly while serving as a board observer at Cogito and Loopio.

Before OpenView, she worked in product management at sales productivity startup Yesware.

“Ariel has great experience working with founders across the software ecosystem,” True Ventures wrote in a blog post. “But what really stood out to us is her curiosity, team ethic, and desire to help founders succeed, whether she’s helped to fund them or not.”

The addition of Winton comes less than a month after the firm announced it add Boston investor Dave Balter as a venture partner.
