VC Adam Dell, Not Too Busy For Padma Lakshmi?

Venture capitalist Adam Dell is already juggling a lot: he’s a GP with the Austin-based firms Steelpoint Capital Partners and Impact Venture Partners. He’s on the boards of a variety of companies, including Avelle, an accessories rental site that bills itself as the “the new Beg, Borrow or Steal.” He also teaches a class on business, technology and innovation at the Business School at Columbia University.

There’s that famous billionaire brother to keep up relations with, too.

And now, according to the New York Post, Dell, 40, may be parent to the soon-to-arrive baby of glamazon Padma Lakshmi. Lakshmi, 39, host of the Bravo show “Top Chef,” has been involved for years with buyout giant Teddy Forstmann. She is also famously the ex-wife of novelist Salman Rushdie.

Lakshmi has never revealed the name of her child’s father and only reluctantly fessed up to the pregnancy last fall. Her rep told US Magazine in October that: “model, author, and Emmy-nominated Padma Lakshmi confirms that she is carrying her first child after years of struggling with endometriosis, a cause for which she has co-founded the Endometriosis Foundation of America. As a result of her condition, this pregnancy has been referred to by her physician as nothing short of a medical miracle.”

Since then, the press has been trying to figure out fathered her baby. The Huffington Post reported last fall that in addition to Forstmann, Lakshmi had been seen out with 27- year-old Manu Nathan, who works in business and legal affairs at the sports and entertainment agency IMG (of which Forstmann is CEO). Apparently, it was later learned that Manu was just a cousin, and the mystery continued!
