In fact, Wolpert, who currently sources deals for Los Angeles-based digital media investor The Mail Room Fund, is out on the waves right now. On June 1, Wolpert took off for a week-long solo WaveRunner adventure in the Bahamas.
The trip included an initial 80-mile-long crossing of the Atlantic Ocean from Florida to the Bahamas. And now Wolpert, who turns 47 in August, is jet skiing around the Bahamas before he returns home.
It’s not as leisurely as it sounds. Wolpert, who has been posting updates on his Facebook page when he can, says he’s taking tomorrow off to rest because he’s already had to steer through two storms.
Wolpert is doing the ride to raise awareness of Crohn’s Disease. Wolpert was diagnosed with it when he was 13 and has been active with various support organizations for several years. He hopes to raise $50,000. If you want to learn more about it, info is available at his website.
“I feel that I owe a lot of my success to Crohn’s Disease,” Wolpert said before his trip. “At a young age it taught me that life does have obstacles. With perseverance, hard work, optimism, and the help of family and friends, you can thrive.”
