Chicago, IL (PRWEB) March 26, 2015
The Ziegler Link•Age Longevity Fund, L.P. (the “Fund”) is pleased to announce the closing of a strategic investment in Breezie (Breezie). Headquartered in London, U.K., Breezie is a personalized, intuitive system that is pioneering the use of modern touch screen devices, smart analytics and accessibility to radically simplify the online experience for digitally isolated seniors. This system will help seniors to get the social, economic and health benefits of being online.
The investment in Breezie represents the sixth investment by the Fund since its formation in June 2014. The Fund is one of the first to focus exclusively on aging market companies that provide innovative products, services and technologies to meet the growing needs of seniors and senior living providers in this changing era of healthcare reform.
Breezie’s platform addresses one of the fundamental challenges in the aging market – which is that most seniors find the Internet irrelevant or too complicated and hence do not engage with it. Breezie provides online services that allow caregivers and senior living providers to remotely set-up and customize the most relevant Internet applications, choose curated content and apps based on a senior user’s familiarity with the Internet. This is then delivered on a highly simplified, intuitively easy-to-use interface running on touch screen tablets.
Since January 2014, Breezie has been working with Age UK; the UK’s leading non-profit organization focused on the aging sector and working with a number of senior living providers within the U.K. A number of U.S. institutions have already started piloting the service, with a full launch coming in the months ahead.
Jeh Kazimi, Founder and CEO of Breezie stated, “It is very exciting to have the Ziegler Link•Age Longevity Fund and its Limited Partner network of some of the best and leading senior living providers in the country as a partner! We are excited provide them excellent solutions and work with the combined expertise of Link•Age, Ziegler and other Limited Partner Investors to continually improve the product solution set we offer to the market. We are passionately committed to the senior marketplace and believe our solutions add great value and improve the quality of life of our customers.”
John Hopper, Chief Investment Officer of the Fund added, “Breezie is a great company we have followed and gotten to know over the last few years. Jeh and his team provide great solutions and are very well-established in the U.K. We are delighted to work with them as they expand into the U.S., and as they continue to evolve their product offering to add even more value to seniors, their caregivers and families. The team that has been assembled in the U.K. is one of the leading groups of talent we have seen in this space and we are looking forward to working with them and continuing to innovate and improve the Breezie product offering.”
Financial details of the investment were not disclosed.
