The file sharing and collaboration software developer Bloomfire has raised $8 million from return investors Austin Ventures and Redpoint Ventures. The two firms invested $10 million in the company in March 2012.
Wide Open Spaces emerged from stealth mode and launched today. The venture-backed company, which raised $1.75 million in a previously unannounced seed round from Mercury Fund, RPM Ventures and Dundee Venture Capital last year, operates an online site called openseason to sell hunting and fishing items.
Taskbox, which previously raised $600,000 in seed funding from the Central Texas Angel Network, has come out of partial stealth mode and launched publicly. The company is behind the mail app Taskbox that has been for sale in the Apple Store since October.

Electronic medical records management company Practice Fusion has made its first acquisition, scooping up 100Plus for an undisclosed amount. 100Plus, which was launched in Practice Fusion's health tech incubator in San Francisco, previously raised $1.25 million in seed-stage funding from Founders Fund (which is also a Practice Fusion investor), Greylock Discovery Fund, Felicis Ventures (another Practice Fusion investor) and the Band of Angels. 100Plus was co-founded by CEO Chris Hogg, a health care data analytics expert formerly with Gilead Sciences, who will join Practice Fusion's data and product development group.
Remotium, a San Mateo, Calif.-based startup that helps companies manage the security risks of mobile devices, was named the Most Innovative Company at the start of the RSA Conference on Monday. The company, which has not yet raised any venture funding, was one of 10 finalists in the startup competition.
Medical device company Intersect ENT has raised a $30 million Series D round of funding that was led by new investor Norwest Venture Partners. Also participating in the round were existing investors Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, U.S. Venture Partners, PTV Sciences and Medtronic. The company, which develops therapies for ear, nose and throat surgeons, previously raised $30 million in known funding.
Battery Ventures announced that it has raised $650 million for its 10th fund, and a $250 million side fund to support later stage, growth and buyout deals. The firm said it began raising the fund in October. Battery Ventures raised $750 million for its ninth fund, which closed in early 2010.
Cylance came out of stealth today and announced it has raised $15 million in its first round of funding from Khosla Ventures and Fairhaven Capital. The company--founded last year by Stuart McClure, a former global CTO of McAfee--also named retired Admiral William J. Fallon to its board.
Thirst Labs, which provides a mobile app and Web platform to discover and share news, announced today that its Thirst news platform has been revamped and is now available to everyone online. Thirst Labs raised a $950,000 seed round from BlueRun Ventures and individual investors Steve Newcomb (co-founder of Powerset) and Jason Krikorian (co-founder of Sling Media). Thirst Labs co-founder and CEO Anuj Verma says the company plans to start working on raising a Series A round during the first quarter of this year.
