Boston-based Drift, a conversation-driven marketing and sales platform, has named Julie Hogan as vice president of customer success and services. Previously, Hogan worked at HubSpot where she most recently was vice president of customer success management and international services. Drift's backers include General Catalyst, CRV, HubSpot and Sequoia Capital.
San Jose, California-based VitalConnect Inc, a provider of wearable biosensor technology for wireless monitoring in hospital and remote patient populations, has raised $38 million in Series C funding. MVM and Baxter Ventures led the round.
Israel-based Innoviz Technologies, a provider of LiDAR sensing solutions for self-driving vehicles, has raised $73 million in funding. The investors were Samsung Catalyst and SoftBank Ventures Korea.
Northwestern Mutual's Cream City Venture Capital and Aurora Health Care's InvestMKE are each investing $5 million to back Milwaukee startups via a multiyear funding commitment. Cream City VC will provide early-stage funding for startups ranging from $100,000 to $250,000 while Aurora's InvestMKE, will co-invest, alongside Cream City VC and others, up to $1 million in early-stage healthcare companies.
Palo Alto, California and Tel Aviv-based Waycare Technologies, which optimizes traffic management systems leveraging predictive analytics, has raised $2.3 million in seed funding. Spider Capital and Innogy SE led the round with participation from Goldbell Investments, UpWest Labs, janom, Zymestic Solutions and SeedInvest.
Massachusetts-based Trilio Data, a provider of OpenStack backup and recovery solutions, has raised $5 million in Series A funding. The lead investor was .406 Ventures.
Cambridge, Massachusetts-based Kymera Therapeutics LLC, a biotech company focused on treating previously untreatable diseases, has secured $30 million in Series A financing. Atlas Venture led the round with participation from Lilly Ventures and Amgen Ventures.
Melbourne, Australia-based healthcare investment firm BioScience Managers Limited has appointed Dr. Michael Perry as a director, Dennis Purcell as a director and senior expert adviser and Nicole Vitullo as an independent director. Perry was senior vice president and chief scientific officer (business development and licensing) for Novartis AG while Purcell is a founder and former senior managing partner of Aisling Capital. And, Vitullo is a partner at life sciences venture firm Domain Associates LLC.
Paris-based HighLife SAS, an early-stage medtech company, has raised 12.3 million euros in funding. Sofinnova Partners led the round.
Beam Dental, a provider of dental benefits for small and medium-sized businesses, has secured $5.5 million in Series B funding. Lewis & Clark Ventures led the round with participation from Drive Capital. In addition to the funding, Ron Watson, a principal at Lewis & Clark Ventures, has been named to Beam's board of directors.
