BitPesa, a Kenya-based bitcoin remittance platform, has secured Greycroft as a lead investor in its follow up to its Series A funding round. The total tally is now $10 million.
Bethesda, Maryland-based BrainScope Company Inc, a medical neurotechnology company, has closed $16 million in financing. The investors included DBL Partners,Revolution LLC, ZG Ventures and Maryland Venture Fund.
Montreal-based UNLTD, a virtual and augmented reality content studio, has raised C$1.1 million in seed funding. The investors included Richard D. Adler of Interdomus, David Reckziegel of Rex Media Capital and Senvest Capital. In conjunction with the funding, Adler and Stuart Cobbett of Rex Media Capital will join UNLTD's board.
Boston-based Gamer Sensei, a competitive coaching platform, has raised $4 million in funding. Accomplice and Advancit Capital led the round with participation from other investors that included Origin Ventures, CRCM Ventures, Kiwi Ventures, aXiomatic, Abstract Ventures and Subversive Capital.
Solana Beach, California-based Hookit, a sponsorship analytics and valuation platform, has raised $16 million in funding. Arrowroot Capital led the round with participation from other investors that included Bialla Ventures and Social Starts.
Taiwan-based Appier, an artificial intelligence company, has secured $33 million in Series C funding. The investors were SoftBank Group Corp., LINE Corporation, NAVER Corporation, EDBI and AMTD Group.
Cologne, German-based Homelike, a European online B2B booking platform for furnished long-term housing, has raised 4 million euros in Series A funding. Cherry Ventures led the round with participation from Coparion.
Indianapolis-based Upper Hand, a provider of sports software, has secured funding, bringing its total tally to $2.4 million. The investors included Elevate Ventures.
Saskatoon, Canada-based 7shifts, a provider of employee scheduling software for restaurants, has secured $3.5 million in funding. The investors were Tandem Capital and Relay Ventures.
Salt Lake City-based Dwelo, a smart home platform for apartments, has raised $4.9 million in funding. Peterson Ventures led the round.
