Canva, an Australian graphic design solutions provider, has secured $15 million in Series A funding. Felicis Ventures led the round with participation from Blackbird Ventures, Matrix Partners, Vayner Capital and actors Owen Wilson and Woody Harrelson.
Israel-based Morphisec, a provider of cyber security prevention and detection solutions, has secured $7 million in Series A funding. Jerusalem Venture Partners, GE Ventures, Deutsche Telekom, Portage Advisors and OurCrowd were the lead investors.
Boston-based Censio, which uses big data to make driving safer and more affordable, has raised $10 million in Series A funding. General Catalyst Partners led the round with participation from Bain Capital Ventures and Lakestar.
Boston-based business catering marketplace ezCater has secured $28 million in Series C funding. Insight Venture Partners led the round.
Milpitas, California-based Robin Systems, a developer of data-centric compute and storage containerization software, has raised $15 million in funding. A USAA subsidiary and DN Capital led the round with participation from other investors that included Hasso Plattner Ventures. Also, the company has appointed Premal Buch as CEO.
Toronto-based Flixel Photos Inc, which helps content creators produce cinemagraphs, has raised $2.2 million in seed funding. Extreme Venture Partners and Cranson Capital Securities led the round.
Metamorphic Ventures has named Lawrence Ng to its advisory board. Ng is a principal at global asset management firm LNG Management and was a board chairman of Oversee.net.
Scottsdale, Arizona-based ReplyBuy, which provides solutions for enabling instant mobile ticket purchases, has raised $2 million in funding. The investors included Enspire Capital, Sand Hill Angels, MRTNZ Ventures, Kosinski Ventures, SEAG Ventures, Arizona Tech Investors and Desert Angels.
San Francisco-based Cloverpop, a provider of behavioral economics, has secured $1.8 million in seed funding. The investors were True Ventures and TDF Ventures.
Newsela, a publishing platform that helps students improve their reading, has raised $15 million in Series B funding. Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers led the round with participation from Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan, Women’s Venture Capital Fund, the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and Owl Ventures. In conjunction with the funding, Brook Byers, a partner at KPCB, has been added to Newsela's board of directors.
