Neon Therapeutics has launched with $55 million in Series A funding. Third Rock Ventures led the round with participation from Clal Biotechnology Industries and Access Industries. Based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Neon Therapeutics is an immuno-oncology company focused on treating cancer.
Lytmus has raised $7.2 million in Series A, according to a blog post on its site. The investors were New Enterprise Associates and Accel. Based in San Francisco, Lytmus is a technical talent assessment platform provider.
New York City-based computer programming school General Assembly has raised over $70 million in Series D funding, the company announced in a blog post on its site. The backers included Advance Publications, Wellington Capital Management LLP, Institutional Venture Partners, Learn Capital, Maveron, Rethink Education and WTI . In addition to the funding, General Assembly has added Steve Newhouse to its board.  
San Diego-based Elcelyx Therapeutics, a developer of drugs for metabolic disorders, has secured $40 million in Series E funding. Sailing Capital led the round with participation from other investors that included Morgenthaler Ventures, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Technology Partners and GSM Fund LLC. In addition to the funding, Elcelyx has appointed Liang Tsui, a managing director and partner of Sailing Capital, to its board of directors.
Seattle-based Dolly, an app that helps people and businesses move just about anything, has raised $8 million in Series A funding. Maveron led the round with participation from other investors that included Chris Capps, KGC Capital's Dick Kiphart and Jeff Wilke, senior vice president of consumer business at Amazon.
Mountain View, California-based data science platform BigPanda has secured $16 million in Series B funding. Battery Ventures led the round with participation from return backers Sequoia Capital and Mayfield. In addition to the funding, Scott Tobin, a general partner at Battery Ventures, has been added to BigPanda's board.
Simppler has secured $1.2 million in funding, according to a company announcement. The investors included Greylock Partners, Correlation Ventures and zParks Capital. Based in San Mateo, California, Simppler is an employee referral platform.  
UK-based geopolitical risk analytics startup Cytora has raised an undisclosed amount of funding. The investors included Cambridge Enterprise, the venture arm of Cambridge University and Parkwalk Advisors.
France-based Therachon, a developer of treatments for achondroplasia, has secured $35 million in Series A funding. OrbiMed led the round with participation from New Enterprise Associates, Inserm Transfer Initiative and Versant Ventures. In conjunction with the funding, Dr. Stephen Squinto, a venture partner at OrbiMed and Dr. Sara Nayeem, a principal at NEA, have been added to the board of directors.
NodePrime, a data center management platform that has emerged from stealth mode, has raised $7 million in seed funding. The investors were Menlo Ventures, New Enterprise Associates, Formation 8, Ericsson, Initialized Capital, Crosslink Capital and TEEC Angel Fund.
