World Fund's debut vehicle closed on €300m, with backing from the European Investment Fund, KfW Capital and BPI France, among others.

Dutch venture capital firm Future Food Fund has closed its Article 9 impact fund on €40m, with commitments from the European Investment Fund, Risk Capital Resources, the Dutch Future Fund, Wageningen University & Research and regional development agencies Oost NL and NOM.

Now that the market correction has occurred, Anterra Capital is ready to execute its strategy and intends to spend 2023 deploying Fund II, with plans for a follow-on vehicle unlikely to begin gathering steam until late 2024.

McWin Partners has launched McWin Food Tech Fund, a €250 million vehicle that will target the whole food value chain, including “ingredients and alternative proteins," said partner Martín Dávalos.

The alternative protein start-up has taken its total capital raised to $2bn since being founded in 2011 and raised $700m in 2020.

Teachers’ Innovation Platform has grown to amass a C$3.7bn portfolio since it was launched in 2019 and made its first agtech investment in mid-June when it led a $226m Series B for Motif FoodWorks.

The direction signaled by the bloc over the past few years is creating a fundraising environment beneficial to start-ups and is now backed by a sustainability-conscious subsidy package.

The vehicle has already made four investments across its mandate, with Peruvian agribusiness Phoenix Foods and solar energy solutions provider SunColombia among the early beneficiaries.

The portfolio companies of the NY firm have also fared well on the fundraising trail, as it plots a successor $250m vehicle to its debut $50m fund.
