Cofounders Capital, has raised $31.27 million for its sophomore fund, according to a regulatory filing.  The Cary, North Carolina-based firm is targeting $50 million raise for this fund. The firm raised its $12 million first fund in 2015.  Cofounders Capital is  an early stage seed fund focused on software ventures in the Triangle.

Serena Williams, a tennis star, revealed that in 2014 she launched a venture firm called Serena Ventures. The fund invests in early-stage companies that “embrace diverse leadership, individual empowerment, creativity and opportunity.” According to Serena Ventures website, the fund is managed by Alison Rapaport, who was previously with J.P.
